Boat Hooks

Wooden Boat HooksThe traditional bronze hook is set into a tapered 6-1/2’ or 8-1/2’ pole which is double varnished to protect it from the weather. Unlike most boathooks, you'll be proud to leave this one on deck for people to see.

Our boat hooks are available in three Online Storechoices of wood to complement anyboat, shown are Mahogany (left),Walnut (middle) ,or Ash (right). We generally find 6-1/2' is long enough for most boats.

The tapered handle is designed so the boat hook should float upright if dropped overboard. We're often asked "how do you know it will float upright?" We dropped twelve Ash boat hooks off the end of the dock to find out. Nine floated upright nicely, two floated on their sides, and one went straight to the bottom. The density of wood, no guarantee but darn good odds! The mahogany and walnut hooks are lighter density and should float well.
