Welcome to Shaw & Tenney... makers of the world's finest traditionally handcrafted wooden oars and paddles since 1858.

The most important element in the manufacture of our wooden oars and paddles is, and has always been, the hand and eye coordination of the craftsmen who make them. There are faster ways to make them; there are easier ways to make them; but we firmly believe that there is no better way to make them. We are proud to be Shaw & Tenney.

With our website, we provide you with detailed information and photographs of our products. The only thing you can't do is hold our products to feel their quality and beauty. Once you do, you'll understand why our products complement the finest boats in the world.
