Stand Up Surf Paddles

Shaw and Tenney is pleased to offer our traditional, solid wooden paddles in a new stand up surf paddle model!

Developed through extensive testing in Hawaii with Tropical Blends and their team of riders, these paddles offer the unique benefits of solid, one piece wood. The distinctive flexibility and natural shock absorbing characteristics cannot be duplicated. Our straight blade design provides predictable control and excellent power transfer.

Available in lengths from 72” to 84” in one inch increments, we custom handcraft your paddle specifically to order. The blade is our classic 6" beavertail pattern and the oval shaft is oversized, 1-1/8" x 1-1/2", for the stresses associated with surfing.

Click image to enlarge	Sassafrass Sassafras: One of our favorite paddle woods, Sassafras is a very light, very flexible hardwood that has the marvelous quality of darkening over time. Because it grows in a small area of the United States and is generally not commercially harvested, it can be difficult and costly to obtain.	Click image to enlarge
Click image to enlarge	Spruce Spruce: An extremely light and strong softwood, spruce is an excellent choice for stand up paddling in flat water and for ladies and smaller surfers wanting a light paddle.
