AFTER 150 YEARS, A WHITEHALL OF EQUAL QUALITY
Shaw & Tenney, longtime maker of traditional wooden oars and paddles, are proud to introduce their first boat, The Shaw & Tenney Whitehall. Built with the same uncompromising quality and absolute best available materials, she is truly a work of art like all of our products!
Carefully considered, lofted, and built at our shop in Orono, Maine, she combines the beautiful lines and attributes of the traditional Whitehall design with modern construction techniques.
Designed for exceptional rowing performance at 17’ – 9’’ LOA, the fancy edition (pictured) weighs 160 pounds and the basic edition 140 pounds. Construction is glued – lap strake Sapele mahogany plywood with ribbon Sipo mahogany bright work. She is 100 percent watertight and easily trailered and launched single-handed.
Both versions provide stations for single and tandem rowing and there is also a removable traditional wooden sliding seat option. Plans are to offer a sailing version as well.
